I love doing seasonal embroidery patterns that I can offer my followers for FREE! This pattern is perfect for the Fall season!
This pattern is beginner friendly and would be super fun to do yourself, or with kids at home!
STEP 1: GATHER YOUR MATERIALS
To create this hoop, you will need:
- your Thread Unraveled pattern
- black embroidery thread (DMC 310)
- needle
- white fabric (I like to use linen blends)
- 5 inch embroidery hoop for the web
- 3 inch embroidery hoop for the spider
- felt (for the back of the hoop)
- scissors
STEP 2: DOWNLOAD YOUR PATTERN
STEP 3: TRANSFER YOUR DESIGN
Start by printing your pattern and tracing it onto your pieces of fabric. Trace the web onto fabric that will fit in your 5-inch embroidery hoop. Trace the spider onto fabric that will fit in your 3-inch embroidery hoop. I like to use a water-soluble marker to trace my pattern. You can also use a #2 pencil or whatever else you have found that works for you!

STEP 4: STITCH YOUR DESIGN
Once your patterns are transferred onto your fabrics, you are ready to begin stitching your designs!
SPIDER WEB: To create the WEB, use 4 strands of the black thread (DMC 310). Use long back stitches to go over each line of the web.
SPIDERS: To create the spiders in the web, use 3 strands of the black thread (DMC 310). For the circle part, use a woven wheel stitch. For the legs, use a back stitch.
LARGE SPIDER: To stitch the large spider use 12 strands of the black thread (DMC 310). For the circle part of the spiders, use a woven wheel stitch. For the legs, use a back stitch.
STEP 5: FRAME YOUR EMBROIDERY
I love framing this design in the actual hoop because I love how the circular web and spider fits perfectly in the round frame. To finish off the embroidery hoops and make them look neat and tidy on the back, I like to back the hoop with felt. This way, it preserves the embroidery and looks great on the front and back!
