Handmade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Choosing the perfect gift is always so difficult for me! Especially when I’m shopping for my mom. Often times I feel like whatever I get won’t be good enough because she could just buy it herself! She does have lots more money than me, after all 🙂

That’s why I usually go with something handmade! When you make something with your own two hands, no one can be mad about it (cuz that’s just rude). The time and effort you put into making something beautiful for someone is priceless.

This year, I’m gifting my mom a floral embroidered art piece. It’s something I know she will love because I made it myself and because it’s just really cute!

Another idea is this “Home Is Where Your Mom Is” hoop. It’s a lovely reminder that no matter where you live or what your circumstances are, home is wherever your mom is.

Give your mom the best Mother’s Day gift this year – something handmade, and made with love from the heart.

DIY Embroidered Clothing

Do you have a t-shirt you just wish you could spruce up, but don’t know how!?

Or may you have an old sweater that needs some new life!?

I love using embroidery to make a t-shirt or sweater come to life! Adding a little pop of color or some simple flowers can give any item of clothing some new life!

Anyone can embroider clothing! It may look intimidating and you may have a bunch of questions to help you get started! I’M HERE FOR YOU!!

One embroidered t-shirt I absolutely love is my “Pocket Full of Daisies” shirt! It started out as a plain grey pocket t-shirt and now it’s my favorite item in my closet!

Whenever i post a picture of embroidered clothing on my Instagram, I get SO MANY DMs. Messages range from “Wow! I love this shirt!” to “Wow! Tell me ALL your secrets! I want to make this too!”

This is why I created a PDF embroidery pattern that would allow others to create their very own “Pocket Full of Daisies” shirt.

This pattern teaches you EVERYTHING you need to know to create your own embroidered t-shirt! You will be able to create the “Pocket Full of Daisies” shirt, but you will also be able to use all my tips and tricks to help you embroider any piece of clothing. The pattern answers questions like:

  • Should I use a stabilizer?
  • How do i keep my shirt from puckering and stretching?
  • How do i transfer my pattern onto my shirt?
  • How do I secure the thread onto the back of the shirt?
  • Tips for working with stretchy fabric?
  • How do i wash my hand-embroidered clothing?

So yes, YOU CAN DO IT!! You can embroider your own clothing! Follow the instructions in this pattern and you will be able to embroider ANY t-shirt, sweater, etc!

Embroidered Daisies Pocket T-Shirt

I’ve always loved embroidering daisies. But getting to wear them on my shirt is just so exciting to me! What’s better than art you can wear??!

This daisy pocket t-shirt is just what I need in my wardrobe! It is perfect for basically all seasons of the year, but I am especially excited to wear it this Fall!

This hand-embroidered daisy pocket t-shirt has a relaxed, draped fit. It is available in sizes S, M, and L. If you are between sizes, you may consider sizing down as the shirts are loose and flowy.

The shirt color is Heather Stone (AKA grey) and the flowers are white daisies with yellow centers and green stems.

Made from super-soft viscose fabric, this light-and-airy flowy tee with a square-pocket detail is a versatile essential.

The material is 65% polyester, 35% viscose. Machine wash in warm water, inside out with like colors. Tumble dry on low, or lay flat to dry. Medium iron, if necessary.

It’s the perfect addition to your Fall wardrobe. Dress it up or dress it down, either way, go out in style!

This cute model is my sister. She is wearing a size SMALL. She is 5’7″ and weighs 140 lbs.

Wild Daisies Embroidery Pattern

I have always loved daisies. When I was little, my mom, sisters, and I would frequently watch the movie “You’ve Got Mail” together. Because of that movie, I decided from a young age that daisies are my favorite flower. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you’re missing out and you need to watch “You’ve Got Mail” ASAP.

Because of my love for daisies, I created this Wild Daisies pattern. It was one of my very first patterns I ever made and I immediately fell in love with it. And apparently many of you have fallen in love with it too! This pattern is by far my most popular embroidery pattern.

Perfect for beginners and advanced embroiderers alike, this digital embroidery pattern takes you through everything you need to know to create this embroidery.

The Wild Daisies Embroidery Pattern includes:

PDF pattern (comes in black and white so it can be easily traced)
-pattern instructions (including what stitches to use, thread colors, and pictures to help you along the way)
-stitching guide (pictures and explanations for how to create the stitches needed for this pattern)
-video tutorials (links to videos that explain how to create specific stitches and back your hoop)

Note for BEGINNERS: If you are a true beginner to embroidery, your digital pattern also comes with a “Beginner’s Embroidery Guide” that will teach you all about your materials, how to transfer your pattern onto fabric and place the fabric in your hoop, how to thread your needle, and how to begin stitching your design. So yes, beginners can complete this design. 🙂

This pattern is sized for a 6-inch hoop, but you could enlarge or shrink it to fit any size hoop you wish. And please, feel free to use any color scheme you want with this pattern! Let your imagination carry you! 🙂
